Forest management needs improvements, conservationists say

It’s only six pages, but a large number of people are behind a recent report issued by the Alberta Wilderness Association.

The Alberta Wilderness Association’s Nigel Douglas said that he was pleased with the diversity of groups that signed on endorsing the brief six-page document — Sustainable Forests, Sustainable Communities: The Future of Alberta’s Southwestern Forests.

“It’s not just the traditional ‘tree-hugger’ perspective, it’s a lot of different people who are looking for a new way of managing forests in Alberta,” Douglas said.
