Walleye makes comeback in Lake Erie

Pickerel has made a comeback in Lake Erie, much to the surprise of biologists. Yearly surveys done on the lake initially led experts to believe the fish, formally known as walleye, was in decline. But later estimates showed its numbers to be healthy enough that this year’s allowable catch by sport and commercial fishermen could be raised by almost one-third.
