Nova Scotia proposes to protect more land, inching closer to 12 per cent goal

The Nova Scotia government is looking to add 23 new parcels of land throughout the province to its growing list of protected wilderness areas. The provincial government says it acquired the land over the past four years for conservation purposes from landowners, forestry companies and the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The government says Nova Scotians will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed additions until June 24.
