Industry group fires last shot at provincial forestry bill

The bitterness over the looming passage of new provincial forest tenure legislation still lingers. The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) said the McGuinty government has turned a “deaf ear” to the call from concerned stakeholders to slow down passage of Bill 151, an act to reform the forest tenure system in Ontario. OFIA wasn’t pleased with a time allocation motion to fast track the bill through a standing committee prior to third, and final, reading.
