State jostling delays Murray-Darling plan

PLANS to save the Murray-Darling have been delayed several months as state governments demand negotiations over billions of dollars in water saving infrastructure projects are settled before its release. The draft version of the basin plan – including cuts to farmer’s water rights – was initially expected this week, but the independent Murray-Darling Basin Authority will announce today they are being put off until mid-October.
