Call to involve villagers near national parks on conservation

Villagers living around National Parks must be fully involved in the running and safeguarding of the conserved areas if the natural biodiversity is to be successfully maintained. This was among various observations made by about 15 delegates from Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia and Malawi who were attending a special ”Summer School” here on ”Reconciling livelihoods and Biodiversity Conservation” in protected Areas Management in Sub-Saharan Africa.
