Stockholm World Water Week 2011: Megacities, Human Rights, Sanitation, Tech Tools, Energy, and Food

The largest mass migration in history, drawing billions of people from rural areas to cities, is posing a major risk on global water security and prompting planners, experts, businesses, and policy makers to design new standards for measuring water risk. But the world’s capacity to respond to age-old problems like sanitation is in doubt, as conventional estimates of safe access to water and sanitation globally might be “grossly underestimated” — several times smaller than the reality on the ground.
